What we're looking for
The Hardware team at Smartex is responsible for developing and integrating next-generation systems for textile inspection machines in real industrial environments. We are looking for a highly motivated Summer Intern to support the development, testing, and integration of new hardware solutions for industrial inspection systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world engineering challenges, contributing to system reliability, deployment efficiency, and hardware performance across factory environments.
Responsibilities
- Support PCB stress, reliability, and ageing tests for hardware validation.
- Assist in PCB testing, fault detection, and rework activities.
- Help prepare test setups, cable harnesses, and prototype assemblies.
- Collect and organize structured test data and laboratory observations.
- Contribute to PCB design reviews for future manufacturing stages.
- Create and maintain test reports and technical documentation.
- Work closely with Hardware and Firmware engineers during development activities.
- Support the identification and analysis of system issues and reliability challenges.
Skills & Experience
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in electronics, hardware development, and laboratory testing.
- Basic familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Hands-on interest in PCB assembly, soldering, and hardware prototyping.
- Familiarity with electronic schematics and PCB design tools such as KiCad or similar.
- Analytical mindset and interest in testing, debugging, and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative engineering environment.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
