Responsibilities
- Build a Powerful Image Similarity Search Tool: Enable rapid, accurate retrieval of visually similar images from the growing pool of textile production data;
- Streamline and Accelerate Data Labeling: Empower labelers to quickly surface, compare, and label edge cases or rare defects via similarity-based search;
- Robust Vector DB Integration: Establish a scalable vector DB pipeline for efficient, ongoing ingestion, indexing, and retrieval;
- Embedding Flexibility: Support multiple families of image embeddings to cover diverse image types and tasks, and evaluate their practical efficacy;
- Improve Label Quality and Speed: Reduce labeling time, maximize information gain, and maintain or improve accuracy/consistency across labeling projects;
- Seamless Integration with Smartex Workflow: Ensure the tool fits within Smartex's internal landscape and can evolve alongside other production data systems;
- Advance Industry Knowledge: Contribute practical methodology and empirical insights to the deployment of image similarity search in industrial machine vision contexts;
- Foster a Data-Centric Culture: Lay the groundwork for active learning and smarter annotation loops, elevating Smartex’s model training and deployment practices.
Skills & Experience
- Currently enrolled in the Master's degree of Artificial Intelligence;
- Proficiency in Python;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling effective candidate engagement and communication within the team;
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies;
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative startup environment.
