The Operations Team at Smartex plays a key role in bringing our groundbreaking textile technology to life across factories worldwide. We design, deploy, and refine installation solutions that ensure our hardware integrates seamlessly into complex industrial environments. We are a hands-on, mission-driven, and globally minded team, committed to transforming the textile industry through innovation, reliability, and collaboration.


We are looking for a Field Engineer who thrives at the intersection of component design, engineering, and real-world implementation. You’ll combine technical expertise with creativity, working directly with customers and partners to deliver robust, elegant solutions. From prototyping to installation, you’ll help shape how our technology takes root on factory floors across the globe.


​Responsibilities


    • Design custom mechanical parts, electrical projects, and installation solutions tailored to industrial environments;

    • Survey and collect technical requirements both on-site and remotely;

    • Travel to customer sites worldwide (approx. 50% of your time), including Portugal, Turkey, Bangladesh, India, and more, to gather project requirements, oversee installations and ensure flawless execution;

    • Develop and interpret technical documentation, from assembly and installation guides to operational manuals;

    • Source components and build prototypes;

    • Test and evaluate prototypes to ensure performance, reliability, and safety.

Skills & Experience


    • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related field;

    • 3+ years of professional experience in a technical or field engineering role;

    • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software);

    • Familiarity with additional engineering or simulation tools is a plus;

    • Experience with manufacturing processes, prototyping and reverse engineering;

    • Hands-on experience with electrical systems is highly valued;

    • Willingness and enthusiasm to travel internationally (approx. 50%);

    • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken; 

    • Fast learner with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills;

    • Collaborative, proactive, and ready to get hands-on wherever needed.
